Picture of the setup I used: [link]

Gear: Canon 40D with Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 and a Sigma flash.
Post production: Sharpened, tuned up a little on the blackpoint and cropped it.

=fahabb showed me some great links to some smoke photography and so I decided to test it out myself. My sister had some incense lying around so I drove over and picked that up and gave it a shot:)

Feedback in terms of comments and critiques especially are most welcome! Favourites also of course:)

My pictures are not to be used in any other form or shape on any other websites or similar withouth my permission.<b>

At first, I thought this was a work of photoshop. Then I read your description and my jealousy for your photographic skills intensified. You lit the smoke up perfectly (maybe that was just luck?), and the shape of it is exquisitely perfect. I've actually never seen such a good shot of just smoke, and this is one of the only instances where I'd say your title on the image adds to it rather than subtracting. Cool colors, if you did some post-processing it looks phenomenal. I feel inspired to buy incense and try the same thing as you! Unfortunately, I'd probably get more mediocre results. :D

Great capture! This could be a cool logo if done with a general line tracing of the smoke. Keep up the awesome work. :D

This is amazing. The collection at the top reminds me of a dancer's body. I've always wondered how to photograph smoke...

Well thank you. :) I'll check that out. Maybe when I get a working camera again I'll try it out. Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it.
