Gear: Canon 40D with Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 and a Sigma flash. Post production: Sharpened, tuned up a little on the blackpoint and cropped it.
=fahabb showed me some great links to some smoke photography and so I decided to test it out myself. My sister had some incense lying around so I drove over and picked that up and gave it a shot

At first, I thought this was a work of photoshop. Then I read your description and my jealousy for your photographic skills intensified. You lit the smoke up perfectly (maybe that was just luck?), and the shape of it is exquisitely perfect. I've actually never seen such a good shot of just smoke, and this is one of the only instances where I'd say your title on the image adds to it rather than subtracting. Cool colors, if you did some post-processing it looks phenomenal. I feel inspired to buy incense and try the same thing as you! Unfortunately, I'd probably get more mediocre results.
